Hello! My name is Mario Bordin and I was born in 1977 in a small town in northeastern Italy where I still live with my family. I used to work as a professional photographer mainly for ceremonies and still life, but now I am involved, as a simple amateur photographer, in nature photography. Specifically, I practice what is commonly called "photographic hunting", which involves the search and capture of images of wildlife or natural landscapes through photography. Unlike traditional hunting, which implies capturing or killing animals, photographic hunting aims to immortalize the beauty and behavior of animals in their natural environment without harming or stressing them.
Here are some key elements of photographic hunting:
1. Research and observation: Photographic hunting begins with the search for appropriate habitats for the wildlife you want to photograph. This may involve studying the habits and behaviors of animals, as well as searching for places where they are most likely to be found.
2. Equipment preparation: It is important to have the right photographic equipment to capture quality images. This may include a digital or mirrorless SLR camera, lenses suitable for nature photography, tripods, binoculars, and accessories for protection from the elements.
3. Patience and dedication: Photographic hunting requires patience and dedication. Wildlife can be elusive and shy, so it may be necessary to spend a lot of time waiting and observing to get the desired photo.
4. Respect for nature: It is essential to respect animals and their habitat during photographic hunting. This includes avoiding disturbing the animals, not interfering with their natural behavior, and respecting local laws and regulations regarding wildlife photography.
5. Sharing images: Once the desired images have been captured, they can be shared with others through social media, photography exhibitions, or publications. Images can be used to educate, inspire, and raise awareness about issues related to nature conservation and biodiversity.
In summary, photographic hunting is an activity that combines a passion for photography with curiosity and respect for nature. It offers the opportunity to connect with the natural world, capturing and sharing its beauty and wonder through the lens of the camera.
